Our Tutors

Amar Mann started tutoring in 2002 for some of the “big-box” test prep companies. He was shocked to see that many of the tutors were unqualified to teach. He also experienced the lack of training and support provided by these companies to their tutors. Furthermore, he saw the “one-size fits all” approach employed by these companies was ineffective and students were not improving.

Amar knew there was a better way and began to experiment with teaching his his own methods and techniques that had helped him score in the 99th percentile on the SAT and gain admission to Yale University. Amar then developed his own program — which puts together his knowledge of the best study methods, lessons, and techniques — for prepping for the ACT and SAT tests. As a result of the massive improvements his students have experienced, he has quickly become one of the most popular test prep tutors in the Bay Area based purely on word-of-mouth. Amar believes even the most complex concepts needed to succeed on standardized tests and in high school classes can be distilled into simple fundamentals and explanations which anyone can learn

Rachel is a senior at Foothill high school who has a 4.3 GPA and has a nearly perfect SAT score (1550). Rachel is a proven teacher of grammar, writing, analytical reading skills, math and various academic subjects. She is also an Ambassador Girl Scout and recently received her Gold Award, which is the highest award in Girl Scouts. She also plays on the varsity lacrosse team at her high school and is 1st chair Viola in her school orchestra. When Rachel isn’t helping students or excelling in or out of the classroom, she likes to go geocaching with friends and read National Geographic.
